Does modern technology make life more convenient or was life better when technology was simpler?

I personally believe that modern technology makes life a lot more convenient than when it was just simple. One of my reasons being that today's modern technology helps save a lot of people's lives and it also saves time. With the technology we have today, they have made it so convenient that you can search things on your phones, your iPods, computers, laptops, etc.  Modern technology has gotten so convenient that now it can even save some lives in cases where if they didn't have the technology they have today, there would've been a few less people actually living.
