Should anonymity (not using real name) be protected in electronic interactions and communications? Would this be a good thing for community, responsibility, free expression, political participation, and personal fulfillment? If so, when and why?

In some cases, anonymity should be protected in electronic interactions and communications because people are really crazy sometimes, but in some cases they should be revealed because they could be one of the crazy people. This would probably be a good and bad thing for everyone because if they had anonymity, people could reveal the psychos easily, but without it, they crazy people would constantly be able to get away with stuff.
